Workday Routine For EntrepreneursWorkday Routine productivity

Start out your Workday the right way.  Your workday routine includes many daily activities.  Recently I read an article by Narendra Shah How to Enjoy Your Daily Commute More

Your commute might become a more relaxing part of your day. Here you can read top tips that will improve your commute.

If you take the metro every day to work or school, you might feel it’s the most annoying part of your day, it might feel as another mundane task rather than a pleasant journey. However, it’s very likely that you cannot avoid commuting, so why not implement some strategies that will make your ride more enjoyable. Your commute might become a more relaxing part of your day. Here you can read top tips that will improve your commute.

When I worked and had a long drive to the office I used my car as a university.  For at least 2 hours a day, I learned something new.  I made it an amazing daily journey.  While I agree wholeheartedly with the concepts and ideas Narendra shared.  I’d like to take your workday routine a step further.

The fact is, when you do the things that work for successful people, it will work for you too, and you’ll also become successful.

Humans are Built for Routines

Starting from infanthood, humans naturally feel comfortable with having a daily routine. We like to eat at similar times, sleep at particular times, and work at certain times. When we have a routine starting from birth, we feel comforted and less anxious. This works for us our entire lives.

You Can Predict Your Day

When you have a daily routine, you can essentially plan your day in a way that makes sense to you and for your business. When you have a schedule, you can also predict your income and expenses better. It makes everything easier to predict which cuts down on anxiety and stress.

One area that is not frequently addressed is rest and relaxation.  Most folks don’t think of that as part of thier workday routine.  But the fact is it’s pretty important to productivity.   It’s time to decode rest and relaxation.

Rest & Relaxation are Important Components of Your Workday RoutineRest and relaxation and workday routine

It’s so easy to work 24/7 as a business owner. The problem with doing this is that while you may appear busy and effective if you’re working all the time without any rest and relaxation, what’s the point? You’re going to burn out, be tired all the time, and not be as productive as you would be if you better scheduled your time to include plenty of rest and relaxation.

A Matter of Health

If you’re not healthy, you won’t be able to focus. Focusing is an important part of getting your work done accurately. Being healthy will enable you to have the energy required to think clearly, get work done, and be productive.

Everyone needs intentional exercise as well as rest and relaxation. If you’re going and going all day long without a break until you fall into bed to sleep fitfully for four hours and then try to do it all over again the next day, you’re going to burn out. But, if you schedule in things to take care of yourself during the day, it’s going to make a huge difference.

Try scheduling regular self-care opportunities such as eating good meals, getting a massage, going for a walk, and reading books for leisure. It’s okay to go to a museum during the workday. It’s not as crowded as it is on weekends and can get your creative juices flowing while also giving you important exercise.

Your Workday Routine is Essential To Productivity

Sleeping, resting, taking time to be bored and get your imagination working is going to really help you become more productive. For example, let’s say that at 2 pm today you want to go to the museum to walk around with your spouse and go out for an early dinner at that new vegan café nearby. When you look at your schedule, you know what must be done so that you can really go, so you’re going to focus more and get it done.

Having a time limit for each activity you do also help. You may not go to the museum for unlimited time. You may choose to go from 2 pm to 5 pm, at which time you’re coming back to work for a couple hours. That break during the day is going to help you become even more productive and creative because it’s going to be something to look forward to.

Add to Your Life Satisfaction Quotient

Everyone needs to ensure that all aspects of their life needs are met. You need work (money), love (family, friends, pets), and emotional and spiritual needs to be met. If you’re not working toward a well-rounded life to include these different aspects, it’s going to be hard to have true satisfaction in life. But, if you make a point to schedule into your workday plenty of rest and relaxation – however you define that – your life is going to be even better.

If you’re not happy, healthy, and ready to get to each day then it’s going to be hard to be productive. You will not feel like working. You’re going to put off being productive and procrastinate more because you’ve not scheduled things to look forward to in your day. Make rest and relaxation a priority for your workday routine and you’ll soon discover a big secret that many wealthy business owners use to get ahead.
