It Takes Discipline & Willpower Create Good Habits

As you know it takes willpower, discipline and good habits to truly get the most out of life. All three of these things work together Get More Done in a Day by Building Your Self-Disciplinewhile this may appear simple, it is not always that easy.

When you have willpower it’s easier to preform certain tasks. You may have objectives that you want to meet. Willpower does not always come naturally, it takes self-control, effort and time to use effectively.

The important things with willpower is that you do not constantly see your outcomes immediately.  This can be a little challenging to some people, you are working hard without seeing results. This can make you feel like giving up.

Willpower consists of self-discipline which needs to be sustained in order to reach your goals.  An example of this is with effective weight loss and exercise programs. You have to eat healthy as well as exercise frequently to attain the desired outcome.

The best way to form a habit is by repeating the activity or task over and over again. The more you do something the simpler and easier it becomes. You quit thinking of it as a hard work and accept it as part of your normal routine.

This very same idea eliminates damaging bad habits. It takes bunches of rep to quit smoking for example, or to eliminate sugar. You need willpower and discipline to reach your objectives.

When your new routine ends up being 2nd nature, then you have actually developed a great habit.  And it doesn’t need to take a long time.  Once you have identified a new habit you want to develop you can do so in as little as 21 days.

An additional key ingredient to developing and maintaining good habits routines is motivation. You need motivation to stay disciplined.

Willpower does not come naturally and it takes self-control, effort and also time to utilize efficiently.

The best way to form an excellent practice is by duplicating the task or activity again and again.  When you repeat something over and over again it becomes a routine.  It takes 21 days to change a new behavior into a habit.

Another ingredient to help you form and keep your good habits is that of motivation. You require motivation to develop willpower and to stay disciplined. There are many modes of motivation. You may be told by your doctor that unless you quit smoking you will develop lung cancer. Or if you don’t change your diet you will most likely suffer a heart attack. This type of motivation can be viewed almost as a threat.

The other type of motivation is when you have the desire to change, it comes from deep within you. Once you have this type of motivation your willpower and discipline levels will increase. As you start your journey you will find that nothing can stop you, you are totally focused on your end goal. That is forming a new, lifelong habit.
